Lesser known transfer gossip site SportsBoom are claiming an exclusive today, saying that Aston Villa have “expressed an interest” in taking Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan for next season.
The former Monaco man was on loan there in the second half of last season, and apparently the 27 year old is still wanted at Villa Park.

After signing for €45m from the Monegasques, Disasi played a lot in his first season before falling down the pecking order under Enzo Maresca. It’s hard to see him playing too much under the Italian, and we’re sure Disasi is open to a move if the right opportunity comes up.
It will be hard to get back what we paid for him, but we’re sure the club would be pretty happy with €30m which would cover the bulk of his amortised cost, and just write this off as a bad signing.
If Villa don’t want him, we’re sure there would be other Premier League interest – it’s just a question of how much they will pay.
We would say it’s certainly true that Chelsea are looking to move on Axel Disasi this summer, and while we’d argue they’ll do everything they can to push for a full sale rather than a loan, the fact that the Frenchman has so many years left on his contract means a temporary move is still possible.
If it is a loan, however, expect it to come at the end of the window when other avenues are exhausted, and expect it to contain a compulsory purchase triggered by appearances or league achievements.
