An exclusive report is claiming that Chelsea now want to sign a new player who they believe will follow Cole Palmer’s trajectory.

The Blues are expected to be busy now this summer, and we have had plenty of updates floating around this week already.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put out his latest YouTube video at the weekend with a bunch of info in that. The main takeaway was Romano saying Chelsea are going to be in the market for a new striker, a centre back, and a winger in the summer.

And there has also been a lot of noise regarding Jadon Sancho and whether Chelsea will actually be signing him from Manchester United permanently in the summer or not. The Athletic are reporting that there is a £5m break clause fee that Chelsea can pay to send him back and terminate the loan obligation to buy.

Romano mentioned a new striker above and it certainly looks like that is becoming the priority for the club in the summer once again. And there have been plenty of names mentioned.

Delap to Chelsea feels inevitable

Liam Delap from Ipswich Town to Chelsea is a hugely public and consistent rumour and it just feels like it will happen now.

GIVEMESPORT have an exclusive out on it this week and they claim Chelsea’s hierarchy are increasingly intrigued by the idea of reconnecting Cole Palmer and Delap, who played together in Manchester City’s academy, at Chelsea.

Apparently there is a growing belief that Delap could follow a similar trajectory to Palmer.

The report goes on to say that Delap fits the profile of being a Chelsea player in terms of how this squad has been built. The vision of him leading the line as the focal point of the attack, with Palmer operating in a free-roaming role around him, holds appeal.

It is understood Chelsea have been studying Delap’s style of play and physicality, and there seems to be belief that he has the attributes to make the step up to a top club.
