We’ve already said everything there is to say about Giovanni Leoni — the talented 2006-born centre-back from Parma. Cherubini summed it up perfectly a few weeks ago on Sportitalia, stating: “We’d like to keep him for at least another year,” effectively shutting down all speculation.

However, those rumours have resurfaced in recent hours. Despite various recent reports that appear to be playing catch-up, the facts remain unchanged: it would take at least €25 million plus substantial bonuses to even begin a conversation. Suggesting a deal involving €15 million and a technical counterpart would only serve to reinforce Parma’s position. There is zero margin for negotiation.
Better to remain silent — much like the silence that has fallen over the Yunus Musah-to-Napoli deal, which had previously been described as all but complete. We’re not ruling out a late twist, but someone will need to explain why a deal that was supposedly nearing completion still hasn’t been finalised. That’s not for us to say.

What we can confirm is this: we’re in the exact same situation as we were over a week ago. Napoli have left everything on standby, reportedly irritated by attempts to raise the price.
