The Tigers are looking to add further depth to their attacking and creative ranks throughout Ruben Selles' maiden transfer window at the MKM Stadium, and the Tangerines' forward is one of the men who has now emerged on the Spaniard's radar.

Hull's current predicament has been talked about at length, as despite hefty investment from Acun Ilicali during the nigh-on three years of his tenure as City owner, the club currently find themselves at risk of relegation to League One, currently sitting 23rd in the table following Cardiff City's 1-1 draw with Watford on Tuesday night.

Blackpool's season in the third tier has been one of large inconsistency, as the Bloomfield Road outfit, currently managed by former Tigers boss and cult hero Steve Bruce, find themselves 16th in the third tier standings, 11 points behind the top six and 10 in front of Crawley Town in the relegation zone.

The aforementioned Joseph has been one of the Seasiders' strongest performers this term, and as a result, a return to the Championship could be on the cards for the 23-year-old.

Hull have struggled for goals during large periods of the season so far, echoed by the fact that top scorer, Joao Pedro, leads the way with five goals to his name - all of which have come since the beginning of November.

Chris Bedia has struggled to find any form of consistency under Selles and former boss Tim Walter, and it is expected that the 28-year-old will return to Union Berlin by the end of the month.

And, after confirming the loan signing of Joe Gelhardt from Yorkshire rivals Leeds United on Wednesday afternoon, FLW can exclusively reveal that City are eyeing up a potential deal to bring Joseph back to the second tier, having previously made 10 appearances at the level for Swansea City in the 2021/22 campaign.

Since then, the former Scotland youth international has enjoyed mixed spells in the third tier, scoring nine times in 37 games on loan with Oxford United in 2022/23, before only scoring once for Blackpool in his first 30 league appearances - only 12 of which were from the start - after moving from Swansea last term, as well as netting in an FA Cup Third Round Replay against Nottingham Forest.

However, Joseph's form and gametime has been much more consistent this season, as he is currently the Lancashire side's top scorer by four goals with a tally of eight to his name, the last of which came via a last-gasp equaliser to earn a credible point away at promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers.

Kyle Joseph would fit the Ruben Selles, developmental mould at Hull City

Having come from the third tier to recently take the reins in East Yorkshire, Selles will be more-than aware of Joseph's talents, and although it may not be the most glamorous of additions at face value, the new Hull boss comes with a track record of developing players of a similar ilk.

At 6"1, the striker offers an aerial presence, with half of his goals this campaign coming from headers, which is something Hull have lacked, and have identified as an issue with the recent signing of playmaker Matt Crooks, who will bring similar attributes to the midfield, whilst offering much stronger Championship experience.
