Tanganga is available for a very reasonable price this summer.
Japhet Tanganga is looking ever more likely to move away from Millwall this summer as options across Europe open up for him.
It was first revealed by Richard Cawley that there was a £1.2 million release clause in the central defender's contract with the Lions that would allow Premier League teams to poach him away from The Den for that price.
Of the top flight teams reported to be interested in Millwall's 26-year-old, all three newly promoted sides are said to be among them, plus two others, as per talkSPORT.
Crystal Palace were, at first, said to be keen to make a deal for the former Tottenham Hotspur youngster, but this notion has since been put to bed by Cawley. The journalist stated that he isn't a player the Eagles are interested in.
There are plenty of eyes looking at the Millwall player from within this country, but talkSPORT have said that a move to France or Germany would be the defender's preference. He spent some time in the Bundesliga on loan at Augsburg while he was still under contract with Spurs.
For Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie, Tanganga being a wanted man was expected this summer. He exclusively told Football League World that he likes the fact that the 26-year-old is willing to test himself by potentially moving abroad this summer.
"It's obviously refreshing to see a player like him exploring European options," said Hendrie. "I've been impressed when I've watched him. Obviously, first, at Spurs and then I was quite surprised that he went away, but I think that he has grown into the player that he is.
"It's no wonder that Premier League clubs have been interested. He's got that release clause in his contract which is very, very cheap, so it's no surprise that he's willing to explore his options in France or Germany, because I think he could fit into most sides around Europe.
"Fair play and credit to him for what he has done at Millwall to attract the attention that he has."
If Tanganga does move on, Millwall should have some extra back-up to cover for his loss as they have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign 2024/25 loanee Zak Sturge on a permanent deal from the top flight outfit.
Sturge, though, will struggle to live up to the levels of the Lions' current premier central defender; in fact, most of his Championship counterparts would too.
His Premier League pedigree has fully shone through ever since his first spell at The Den two seasons ago. Finding someone of his calibre to replace him will present the recruitment team in Bermondsey with a really tough task if he does move on this summer.
