Fiorentina are expected to sit down with their midfielder Mandragora in the coming days to discuss a contract extension, sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me.

Real Betis approached the Italian midfielder in recent weeks, but the La Liga side failed to convince Fiorentina to sell the 28-year-old, who netted nine goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances across all competitions in 2024-25.

Mandragora has less than a year left in his contract at the Stadio Franchi, and even if Fiorentina have an option to extend to 2027, the Tuscans want to negotiate a new deal with their midfielder, hoping to extend his stay for at least one more year.

Mandragora is expected to play a key role under new coach Stefano Pioli, whose appointment is expected to be confirmed in the coming hours.
