Freddie Potts is being considered for a loan recall from Portsmouth, it has been reported.
The Academy midfielder, who is the son of U23 Head Coach and former player Steve Potts, has been in excellent form again this season.
Potts was on loan at Wycombe Wanderers during the previous campaign, having picked up the Player of the Season award following his outstanding displays.
As West Ham now work during this January transfer window to try and strengthen the squad for Graham Potter during the second half of this so-far disappointing season, with Potts now understood to be an option the club are considering.
Although it’s been reported that money is tight this transfer window, West Ham have tabled a £57m bid for Jhon Duran, showcasing there is in fact capital there for the club to invest, however to strengthen the midfield, the option to recall Potts could prove tempting.
It’s expected that the club will continue talks with other targets, including Dewsbury-Hall of Chelsea, prior to any decision on Potts is made.
