Celtic are building something really exciting under Brendan Rodgers this season.
The Bhoys are not only aiming to retain the Scottish Premiership title, but they are also trying to force their way into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Alan Brazil, the popular radio host at talkSPORT, said on air that he received a text in which someone suggested that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers might join West Ham United.
The Hammers are really struggling at the moment, and Julen Lopetegui is under a lot of pressure.
There are suggestions that the Spaniard is on borrowed time and could be sacked if the results do not improve quickly.
Gabby Agbonlahore, who was in the studio alongside Brazil, said that Rodgers is not “going anywhere”.
Brazil said: “You know someone sent me a text late at night saying Brendan for West Ham. I’m like what!.”
Agbonlahore responded: “No, No. No.”
Brazil added: “Can’t leave not that way.”
Agbonlahore added: “Especially the way they are going in the league and the Champions League.”
Brazil said: “Exactly.”
Agbonlahore added: “They have a chance to get into the playoffs for sure. He’s going nowhere.”
A move to the Premier League is tempting for any manager, but Rodgers is unlikely to leave Celtic Park during the middle of the season.
It would be a massive achievement for him if he can guide Celtic to the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
With the money from Europe coming in, Rodgers can build a really strong squad and win more trophies at the club in the future.
Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian recently reported that Lopetegui has two Premier League games to save his job.
The Hammers looked at several options, like Edin Terzic, Kasper Hjulmand, Sebastian Hoeness and Roger Schmidt, before appointing Lopetegui and could move for either of them if they sack their current boss.
