Striker Marko Arnautovic insists that he is as committed to Inter Milan as ever despite a few recent transfer rumours.

The Austrian spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after he had a starring role in Inter’s Coppa Italia round of sixteen win over Udinese.

Arnautovic started for Inter against Udinese this evening.

The 35-year-old has found starting spots hard to come by this season.

Particularly with Joaquin Correa re-emerging as a starting option, competition for places is fierce in attack at Inter.

However, that does not mean that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has lost his trust in Arnautovic.

The coach gave Arnautovic the chance to start this evening. And the veteran former Stoke City and West Ham United striker grabbed it with both hands.

Arnautovic scored Inter’s first goal in a 2-0 victory over Udinese. This was the perfect way to cap off an impressive, battling performance from the Austrian international.

This strong display from Arnautovic comes amid some transfer rumours.

Reports suggest that Torino are sounding out a move for the Austrian to fill in for the injured Duvan Zapata.

But Arnautovic’s display this evening suggests that he could still have more to give Inter.

“First, I’m happy with the win,” said Arnautovic after the final whistle.

“Asllani and I are often on the bench,” the 35-year-old noted. Midfielder Kristjan Asllani scored Inter’s second goal.

“But today we had the chance to play.”

“The goal gave me great joy,” Arnautovic said. “But it’s not important to score, what was important was getting to the quarterfinals.”

“The whole team pushed me on to give everything for Inter,” Arnautovic added.

“Of course this hasn’t been an easy period. There have also been a couple situations in my private life that were not simple.”

But Arnautovic made clear that “I have a contract with Inter, and I want to give everything for this team.”

“Because everyone knows how much I love the club,” the Austrian added.
