Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic refused to hide his excitement after helping his team beat Lazio in their Coppa Italia clash.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the veteran star acknowledged the importance of Wednesday’s triumph.

Marko Arnautovic broke the deadlock at the San Siro following a scoreless first half.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty midway through the second half sealed Lazio’s fate.

Indeed, a comfortable 2-0 victory saw Inter set up a revenge-poised semi-final tie against bitter rivals AC Milan.

Furthermore, tonight’s win should hand the Nerazzurri the ultimate confidence booster ahead of Saturday’s game in Naples.

Simone Inzaghi’s charges will face direct Scudetto rivals Napoli in a season-defining fixture at Stadio Diego Maradona.

There’s only a point between the teams ahead of the kick-off, with only 12 games left.

Asked how much the goal means to him, Arnautovic replied: “A lot. What it means for Inter, it means for me.

“We told ourselves we wanted to reach the semi-finals, we won, and we’re happy.”

When quizzed about Inter’s ambitions in Naples, he responded: “To win.

“We are Inter, and we go into every match to win. We’re strong, though we know Napoli deserves respect.

“But we’re going there to try and win.”

Finally, Arnautovic addressed the upcoming Coppa Italia semi-finals against Milan.

“We’re not thinking about Milan right now. We’re focused on Saturday – it’s a very important game,” he admitted.

“We’ll take it match by match. There’s still a long way to go before we get there.”

Despite his stunning match-opener, Arnautovic will likely make way for Lautaro Martinez this weekend.
