Midfielder Piotr Zielinski is happy with his first half a season at Inter Milan, and believes the second can be “fantastic.”
The 30-year-old gave his thoughts to Polish outlet TVSPORT.PL, via FCInterNews. He looked back on his first few months as a Nerazzurri player.
Zielinski joined Inter last summer. He arrived on a free transfer after his contract with Napoli expired.
Piotr Zielinski had already very much established himself as one of Serie A’s most accomplished midfielders while at the Partenopei.
The Polish international had spent eight years in Campania. He had also starred for the likes of Udinese and Empoli.
But Zielinski decided that it was time for a change last summer. He accepted an offer from Inter.

Zielinski gave his thoughts on how the first half a season has gone for him.
“I’d judge this period as having been positive,” the former Napoli midfielder said.
“There were certainly three or four matches where we could have gone better,” he admitted. “But the majority were at a very high level.”
“The stats can improve, and they will.”
“Overall, I’m satisfied,” Zielinski said of his Inter journey thus far. “And optimistic for the second half of the season.”
“We can do fantastic things,” he said of what the future holds for him and Inter.
Piotr Zielinski has not necessarily been first-choice in the Inter starting eleven since joining. However, he has had plenty of opportunities, both from the start and from the bench.
Meanwhile, Zielinski gave his thoughts on Inter’s Champions League win away to Sparta Prague on Wednesday.
“We came here to win,” said the Inter midfielder. “We knew what the situation was in the table, and this win certainly takes us closer to finishing in the top eight.”
“Which, to be honest, we really need to do.”
“We have a lot of matches,” Zielinski said. “And thanks to this, we’ll be able to get a bit of a chance to rest in February.”
“We won’t have to play every three days. Our goals is to qualify directly for the round of sixteen.”
