The veteran executive praised the Nerazzurri President speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, via FCInterNews.

This was not a whirlwind summer transfer window for Inter.

It is not as though there were no arrivals or departures.

Inter did make two big name free transfer signings, in the form of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski.

Then, the Nerazzurri also signed goalkeeper Josep Martinez who they hope to be the long-term successor to Yann Sommer.

And lastly, the Nerazzurri signed defender Tomas Palacios. They have identified the Argentine as a long-term prospect for their defense.

But more important than any of these signings was arguably the players who didn’t leave.

There were some exits, as is usually the case. But Inter managed to go the summer without selling any players who started regularly last season.

Recent years have seen the Nerazzurri sell the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku, and Andre Onana for massive fees. Then there was the departure of Milan Skriniar on a free transfer.

This time around, however, there were no big exits.

Marino: “Marotta Did An Incredible Job Keeping Inter Milan Squad Together”

The team that Inter kept together had won the Serie A title in dominant fashion last season.

Veteran executive Marino predicted that “It will certainly be difficult for anyone to get the better of the Nerazzurri.”

“Marotta did an incredible job in the window,” he continued. “By keeping top players like Lautaro, who perhaps at other clubs would have had a so-called stomach ache.”

“He also signed Zielinski right off the bat. And kept the coach.”

Marino said that Inter “Were very strong last season, and even moreso this time around.”

“You can see the work of a well-structured club behind them,” he said.

“Even despite the change in ownership, the club directors have managed to make Inter even stronger on the pitch.”
