Matteo Darmian says that Inter Milan are “only focusing on themselves” in this season’s Serie A title race.
The 35-year-old gave his thought to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s match against Udinese.
Inter Milan are back in action. They come back from the international break this weekend with a Serie A clash against Udinese.
And with the return of Serie A, comes the return of the title.
Atalanta, one of Inter’s major title rivals this season, look to have fallen away in the table,
After Inter had won a head-to-head match with La Dea just before the break, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have suffered a second straight loss to Fiorentina today.
Meanwhile, Inter’s other major title rivals Napoli remain very much in touching distance.
The Partenopei came into the weekend four points off of Inter. They face AC Milan tomorrow.

It is now nearly April. And Inter do have a tangible advantage in the Serie A table as they aim to defend their Scudetto crown from last season.
But none of the matches will be easy. Starting with this evening’s match against Udinese.
And Inter wingback Matteo Darmian said that “we just want to focus on ourselves.”
“And get results consistently. Particularly after the great win we got in Bergamo.”
Darmian anticipated that “Today will be difficult.”
“Udinese have quality,” he said. “But we’re taking to the pitch to get three points.”
Meanwhile, Darmian gave his thoughts on Inter’s injury situation. The Nerazzurri had a real injury crisis at wingback before the break, but things are looking better now.
“We’re slowly getting everyone back,” said Darmian.
“And now we’ll have a lot of matches, and we’ll need everyone,” he continued.
Then, the veteran Darmian gave his thoughts on wearing the captain’s armband for Inter this evening. “It’s a great feeling,” he said.
“I represent Inter,” the former Manchester United and Torino defender said. “I’ll try to give my best, as always.”
Darmian has been one of the player who’s made a return from injury. He told InterTV, via FCInterNews, that “I’m doing well.”
“I’ve had time to recover,” said the Italian international. “Fortunately, I’ve had the international break to recover.”
“I was sorry that I wasn’t able to help the team,” Darmian said. “Because when you’re out, it’s harder than when you’re on the pitch.”
Matteo Darmian added that “I’m happy to be back on the pitch, and today we’ll try to bring home the win.”
Meanwhile, Darmian said that Udinese “have more confidence” than when Inter last faced them.
“We know the quality they have. They’re a very physical team.”
“We’ll have to be careful,” Darmian continued. “They’re a difficult team to face.”
The 35-year-old declared that “a lot will depend on us, and I’m convinced we’ll play a great match.”
“We know how important set pieces can be,” he noted. “We saw that in Bergamo as well.”
