Tuesday’s reports claim that former Juventus and Bologna head coach Thiago Motta is among the list of candidates currently under consideration to replace Sergio Conceicao at Milan.
Milan are on the search for a new, permanent head coach following Conceicao’s short-lived tenure.
The Portuguese replaced compatriot Paulo Fonseca at the end of December, and despite winning the Supercoppa Italiana in his first two games in charge, he has not done enough to convince the Rossoneri management to hand him the job on a long-term basis.

Milan announced the appointment of Igli Tare as the club’s new sporting director on Monday. Among his most pressing tasks is the appointment of a new head coach.
Several of Milan’s ‘first choices’ have already become far-fetched, as Antonio Conte looks poised to rejoin Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri is in line to replace him at Napoli, Vincenzo Italiano is close to signing a new contract with Bologna and Roberto De Zerbi is set to continue with Marseille for 2025-26.
That leaves the Rossoneri pondering a list of alternative options, among which is Thiago Motta following his underwhelming experience as head coach of Juventus.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan had also looked at appointing Motta at the end of the 2023-24 campaign following the departure of Stefano Pioli, but Juventus had already beaten them to the coach’s signature.
