Former Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic scored a consolation goal for PSV Eindhoven in last night’s 2-1 defeat at Juventus.
Perisic talked to Lampadine after the game via FCInterNews, reminiscing his glory days in Serie A with the Nerazzurri.
Ivan Perisic spent seven years at the San Siro.
He joined Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015 and departed the club in 2022 to link up with Tottenham Hotspur.
During his seven-year stint, interrupted by a season-long loan at Bayern Munich, he won three major domestic titles.
Indeed, Perisic was part of the squad that lifted the Scudetto under Antonio Conte in 2020/21.
Furthermore, he lifted the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana trophies in the Nerazzurri shirt.
Despite being 36, Perisic proved he’s still a world-class player last night.
He drew PSV level in Turin, only for Samuel Mbangula’s late winner to undo his heroics.
“It was amazing to return to the Champions League after two years,” Perisic admitted. “It’s always special to play in this competition.
“Thanks to the team for doing a great job in the group stage. We played well today, fighting as a unit.

“Some details decided the result, but we still have the second leg at home in front of our fans, so I’m confident we can advance.
“We did a good job, but we need to be more focused and believe in scoring more goals.
“We’ll give everything in the return leg.”
Then, he praises Juventus, a side he had frequently met during his Inter career.
“Juve is a great team,” Perisic continued. “I’ve played many tough matches against them in the past.
“We knew it would be difficult, but I believe in my team. We have to play at home, and hopefully, we’ll qualify.
“Now, we focus on the Utrecht match, then we’ll think about Wednesday.
“There are things to improve, but I’m sure we’ll do a great job. What do we need next week? Simply, to win.”
