Defender Benjamin Pavard is pushing to be back for the second leg of the Champions League tie between Inter Milan and Barcelona.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that it will be very difficult for the Frenchman, but he’ll do everything.
Benjamin Pavard missed yesterday’s 3-3 thriller between Barcelona and Inter Milan.
The former Bayern Munich and Stuttgart defender suffered an ankle sprain during Inter’s Serie A loss to Roma over the weekend.
Therefore, there was never any chance for Pavard getting back for the first leg against Barcelona.
Yann Bisseck started in the 29-year-old’s place on the right of Inter’s defense.

Pavard will certainly miss this weekend’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona.
The Frenchman is still recovering from his ankle problem, and it is certainly not an injury he can put behind him in just a few days.
However, there will be a few extra days before the second leg against Barcelona.
That could be a season-defining match for Inter. The Nerazzurri have given themselves a platform to reach the final with their 3-3 draw against the Blaugranas yesterday.
Therefore, Pavard will do everything to be available for the second leg.
There are just five more days before the second leg against Barcelona.
Therefore, the timeline is certainly working against Benjamin Pavard.
However, reports the Gazzetta, Inter’s medical staff will keep a close watch on the France international day by day.
There is still some hope of Pavard being available against Barcelona next Tuesday. But it will come down to how quickly his condition improves in the next few days.
