The Athletic recently reported that Vinicius Jr.’s camp turned down Real Madrid’s initial contract offer as they look for a long-term deal, with growing interest from Saudi Arabia.
Now, Saudi clubs are looking to capitalize on the situation, according to a new report. Real Madrid began contract talks with Vinicius in mid-January, using the early discussions to gauge his demands.
The club offered a salary increase through his representatives, Roc Nation, but the first proposal was quickly rejected. This development may have caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, which could be keeping an eye on the situation.
While PSG isn’t as desperate for star power as in previous years and has already invested heavily in marquee players, the club could still make a move if the opportunity presents itself.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri recently reported that Vinicius’ advisors have already had informal talks with PSG. The club monitor the situation closely and could step in if Real Madrid doesn’t meet his expectations.

More than 20 years after leaving Barcelona’s board, former president Joan Gaspart spoke with Saudi outlet Al-Eqtisadiah about the possibility of Vinicius Jr. moving to Saudi Arabia.
“As a Barcelona fan, I hope Vinicius takes the Saudi offer,” Gaspart said (h/t Diario AS). Saudi Arabia is preparing a summer bid of around €300 million for Madrid and a five-year contract worth €200 million per season for the player. The former president hopes the offer is “good enough to convince Vinicius.”
According to a recent report from Marca, Saudi Arabia are seriously pursuing Vinícius Jr., with negotiations that began in 2023 still ongoing. In a meeting early that year, Vinícius Jr. showed interest in the project, which includes not only financial rewards but also sporting and personal opportunities.
