Forward Alexis Sanchez is champing at the bit to start for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s Serie A match away to Sassuolo.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster anticipate that the Chilean could be ahead of Marko Arnautovic to be in the starting eleven.

At the moment, Sanchez is just a couple of months away from the end of his contract with Inter.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona veteran signed a one-year deal with the Nerazzurri when he joined on a free transfer last summer.

And at the moment, it looks quite clear that Sanchez will be on his way out when his contract expires at the end of June.

However, that does not mean that Sanchez cannot go out on a high note.

The 35-year-old has more or less done what Inter brought him in to do.

Sanchez has provided attacking depth and a different profile to those of the other forwards in the squad.

Sanchez certainly has not been a regular starter. But he has made a few telling contributions, both from the start and from the bench.

The Chilean has added yet another trophy to his cabinet in the form of the Serie A title, along with the Supercoppa Italiana.

And at this stage, there is not a whole lot left for Sanchez to do. There are no more trophies left for Inter to fight for.

For Sanchez, though, there is still a personal mission to enjoy a positive end to the season.

The Chilean wants to keep proving his worth to Inter as long as he wears the shirt.

And so Sanchez wants to take advantage of the last few opportunities of the season.

The veteran forward is aiming to perhaps bag a couple more goals or assists. And to put in a few more good performances in Serie A.

And tomorrow’s match away to Sassuolo could be just such an opportunity for Sanchez.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is likely to make quite a few changes to the starting eleven in Emilia-Romagna.

In attack, that means that Marcus Thuram will likely drop to the bench, Sky report.

But as far as whole will start alongside Lautaro Martintez rather than the Frenchman, that has been less certain.

It has looked to be Marko Arnautovic in the past few days.

However, Sanchez has been making his case in training. And according to Sky, the Chilean is now the favourite to start against the Neroverdi.

Sassuolo are the only team to have beaten Inter in Serie A this season – and the only team that the Nerazzurri have not already won against themselves.
