A well-rested Everton side travel to North London to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Merseyside Derby was moved last weekend due to safety concerns regarding Storm Darragh, providing the Toffees with an unexpected 10-day break. Sean Dyche will hope his side can build on the momentum of a 4-0 win over Wolves earlier this month, though Everton face a tough test against an in-form Arsenal.
The Gunners warmed up for the clash after thrashing Monaco in the Champions League and are unbeaten since returning from November’s international break. Arsenal are third in the Premier League table and have won the last three meetings between the teams.
The extended break has allowed Sean Dyche to recover some of his squad, with Michael Keane in contention to return at the Emirates.
Everton played a behind-closed-doors friendly with Mansfield Town on Tuesday, allowing several recovering names to get minutes in the legs. Nathan Patterson, Seamus Coleman, Jake O’Brien, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti all featured.
The return of Broja adds another option to the Everton attack with the Toffees the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has now gone 10 league games without a goal.
Everton predicted XI: Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Mangala, Gueye; Ndiaye, Doucoure, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin.
Arsenal host Everton in the Premier League on Saturday 14th December 2024. Kick-off at the Emirates Stadium is 15:00 GMT.
Arsenal vs Everton will not be broadcast live to a UK audience.
