The hosts raced into an early two-goal lead with Sara Holmgaard firing a low effort after Clare Wheeler’s cross was only half-cleared in the opening stages.

Holmgaard also played a part in the Toffees doubling their lead, five minutes later, with her delivery being prodded home by Justine Vanhaevermaet.

But the Lilywhites halved their deficit on the stroke of half-time when Drew Spence slotted into an empty net after beating Vanhaevermaet and Courtney Brosnan.

They were level within two minutes of the second half as Beth England seized on more slack defending from Brian Sørensen’s side with a simple tap-in.

Spurs remain sixth in the table after their hard-fought draw while Everton missed the chance to leapfrog Brighton into eighth place.
