Everton Women have completed the signing of forward Yuka Momiki after her contract with Women’s Super League rivals Leicester City expired.
Momiki becomes Everton’s fifth signing of the summer, and the third Japanese international to make the move to Goodison Park.
Speaking to the club’s website she said: “I am just so excited to be a player for Everton and also I am so excited to play at Goodison Park.
“I went on the guided tour of Goodison Park and I heard all of the stories. It made me really proud knowing I will be a part of the Club’s history, so I can’t wait.
“Women’s football is growing so much. In England, and also at Everton, there is a clear goal to grow our game as much as possible. That ambition, makes me even more excited and was a key reason for me coming here.”
Everton manager Brian Sorensen revealed that he has had a long interest in signing Yuka Momiki.
“Yuka is a player we’ve been keen on for a while now,” he said. “She has shown her quality in this league with Leicester and will be a real asset to Everton.
“As well as being a humble and respectful person off the field, she is a skilful player who is very technically gifted. Yuka can do magical things with the ball at her feet and she is a player who will excite fans.
“I look forward to seeing her flair and skill as we embark on this historic chapter at Goodison Park.”
Yuka Momiki is a Japanese international who was born in the United States.
The 29-year-old moved to Europe with Swedish side Linkopings in 2020, after spells with Japanese side Nippon TV and US-based Seattle Reign.
She scored eight goals in 43 appearances for Leicester after joining them in January 2024.
Momiki lifted the 2025 SheBelieves Cup alongside her three Japanese teammates at Everton. She also was part of the 2019 World Cup and 2020 Olympic squads.
Yuka Momiki is the third Japanese signing Everton have made this summer.
Manager Brian Sorensen hailed Hikaru Kitagawa as a ‘statement signing’ after her arrival from BK Hacken.
Her addition came just one day after they signed Rion Ishikawa from Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds.
The club have also signed Dutch midfielder Rosa van Gool and Spanish winger Ornella Vignola.
