Brentford B midfielder Ethan Brierley has been named the winner of the 2023/24 Mary Halder Award, following an excellent campaign for the young Bees.

Brierley joined Brentford B in the summer of 2023 from Rochdale and has made a huge impact on Neil MacFarlane's side this season.

And, after winning the B team's Players' Player of the Year award last week, he adds another individual prize after his successful season.

The Mary Halder Award is given to a B-team player each season and recognises a campaign of progression, fantastic attitude and professionalism, whilst adhering to the values that we hold close to us as a club.

Brierley follows in the footsteps of former B-team players Dom Jefferies, Fin Stevens, Nathan Shepperd, Ali Coote, Marcus Forss, Chris Mepham and, last year's winner, Ryan Trevitt, who have all won the trophy in previous years.

On winning the award, Brierley said: "It's a massive honour to win this award, especially after what was my first season at Brentford.

"I have really enjoyed my time at the club so far, making my first-team debut was a big achievement for me, and I am already looking forward to what next season will bring."

The former Rochdale man has been one of the ever-presents in the B team this season. He has played over 30 games in all competitions for the B team and also made his first-team debut for the Bees in an EFL Cup fixture against Newport County earlier this term.

He found himself on the scoresheet at times as well, firing from the spot against Rangers B and against MK Dons. The midfielder also got the finishing touch on a lofted through ball from Mukhammadali Urinboev against Hitchin Town - the pick of his goals this term.
