The responses by Copenhagen’s manager and a player were spot on after they got defeated against Chelsea last night, The Blues were poor.
Chelsea beat Copenhagen 2-1 away from home in the first leg of their round of 16 clash in the Conference League last night, but it was not a good performance at all from Enzo Maresca’s side.
There was some positives of course, especially with the two goals. A lovely finish by Reece James was followed up by some good work by youngster Tyrique George to assist Enzo Fernandez to score the second goal.
But unfortunately there were more negatives than positive, with one being Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who was once again just terrible, there is no other way to describe it.
They certainly didn’t look much like the most expensive squad ever assembled in football, which is what UEFA have found them to be this week.
But in terms of chances on goal, the stats were equal. Chelsea had just 2 shots on target and both went in, and this was the same as Copenhagen, who had one of those shots hit the inside of the post too. Both sides have 5 attempts at goal each, it was very equal, apart from the possession, which Chelsea had more of but did nothing with.

Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup said: “They [Chelsea] had the ball more than us, but in terms of chances and shots, it was an equal game.
We did everything we could, and with a little bit more quality, we would have equalised the minute after they scored the first goal.”
Viktor Claesson, Copenhagen forward said:
“First of all, it was a great atmosphere here, as always, when we play on those European nights against top teams. I think we executed our game plan, keeping it closed and limiting their chances.
“I think we had total control in the first half. Then they scored out of nothing, and I was close to scoring the equaliser when I hit the post, and then they scored another one. We didn’t want to lose this game, but we still have the chance [to progress] in the second game.”
