The Blues have four signings so far in Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, but more new faces are expected.

Maresca admits Chelsea need another player for the left side

Chelsea are currently working on a number of outgoings, whilst they are also trying to close a deal for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.

With just over two weeks remaining in the window there’s still a lot of work to be done, and Maresca has hinted where else he wants improvements other than centre back.

“On the left side we have Jamie and Tyrique, so probably also there we need something,” he told The Standard.

However, Chelsea are also looking to sign Alejandro Garnacho, and are thought to be in discussions with Manchester United over a fee.

Garnacho has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and only wants to join the Blues this summer, despite receiving offers from other clubs.

George has expressed his desire to leave Chelsea in order to get regular football, and he’s believed to think there are too many attackers at the club.

It’s not just on the left side where Maresca is looking for signings, he’s also made it clear he wants another centre back to cover for the injured Levi Colwill.

Maresca has explained why he wants another centre back, and we will now see whether Chelsea decide to enter the market or not.

Chelsea have previously been linked with Marc Guehi, and the Crystal Palace captain would appear to be the most obvious solution at this late stage in the window.
