Liverpool near potential mega-sale

Foot Mercato reports that Al-Hilal have both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz on their shortlist. The Saudi Pro League side hope to bring in a star forward ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The deadline to do so, however, is on the 10th. They essentially need to make a deal happen today or tomorrow.

Now, their interest in Nunez is longstanding. Anfield Watch revealed back in January that there was an offer on the table, though Liverpool (not Nunez) rejected it.

That interest never went away, however. The Uruguayan remains in their sights, but far from the only target.

Diaz is also there, even if Al-Nassr have been more heavily linked with the forward. Viktor Gyokeres is another, as are Jadon Sancho and Son Heung-min.

But again, if anything is to happen, it'll have to be quick and that almost certainly guarantees a major fee here. The elite Saudi sides aren't exactly shy to spend anyway, let alone up against a time limit and with little negotiating power.

The offer for Nunez back in January was around £70m. We imagine it would be something similar this time around.

Nunez may even be their primary target here given he did accept to join them in principle last January. They know he's open to a move - with little time left to sway players, that counts for an awful lot.

Watch this space, then. Something massive could be about to happen.
