Emotional Mouctar Diakhaby breaks down after scoring for Valencia vs Leganés | OneFootball

Valencia star Mouctar Diakhaby could not help but allow his emotions to come pouring out, upon finding the net for Los Che on Sunday.

This comes amid the defender’s ongoing efforts to recover full fitness.

Diakhaby is fresh off his return from a long-term spell on the sidelines, following a right knee dislocation suffered early in 2024.

The Guinean was afforded his first start in almost a year during the week, against Barcelona.

As much was then followed by a 2nd starting berth on the spin this evening, as Valencia welcomed Leganés to Mestalla for a La Liga clash.

And, en route to a 2-0 triumph for Los Che, Diakhaby was amongst the goals.

After popping up in the visitors’ penalty area late in the first-half, the stopper lashed home from close range, giving rise to chaotic celebrations across Mestalla.

Diakhaby, as showcased below, was left understandably overcome by emotion in the moment, allowing as much to come pouring out as he wheeled away to the corner flag:
