Finley McAllister and Tommy Rowe replaced Sam Mather and Daniel Gore, who have left on loan.

Sam Murray replaced the suspended Louis Jackson as centre-back, while Jaydan Kamason started in place of Habeeb Ogunneye.

Tottenham full-back Max Robson had the first chance of the game, flicking Tyrese Hall’s in-swinging corner towards goal, but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Elyh Harrison.

Harrison was forced to make another save shortly after, denying Oliver Irow from giving Spurs the lead.

United took the lead in the 37th minute. Spurs goalkeeper Aaron Maguire gave away possession, and the ball fell to Chido Obi-Martin, who set up Malachi Sharpe for the goal.

Jack Moorhouse could have given Man United a two-goal cushion before half-time, but Maguire saved his effort.

Harrison was superb again, stopping Jaden Williams and Irow from scoring at the start of the second half.

United doubled their lead in the 73rd minute through a swift counter-attack. Harry Amass cleared the ball upfield and fell into the path of Moorhouse.

The midfielder sprinted from the halfway line into the Spurs’ penalty area before finding the bottom corner.

Harrison made a late save to preserve his clean sheet, denying Ellis Lehane from getting on the scoresheet with an acrobatic volley.

Since returning from his loan spell last month, Harrison has kept two clean sheets and conceded one goal.

United have moved to third place in the standings, four points behind joint-league leaders Manchester City and Fulham.
