German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of former Arsenal defender Amanda Ilestedt on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old defender joins Eintracht Frankfurt after leaving former club Arsenal earlier this summer. She has signed a three-year deal at Stadion am Brentanobad.

Ilestedt joined Arsenal in summer 2023 and she went on to make 23 appearances for The Gunners in all competitions in which she scored three goals. The defender helped Arsenal to win the Subway Women’s League Cup in 2023/2024 while her final memory of her time in North London will be lifting the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy back in May.

Off the field, Ilestedt celebrated the birth of her first child whilst being an Arsenal player.

After joining Eintracht Frankfurt, Ilestedt said “I’m delighted to be here. Eintracht Frankfurt are among the top clubs in Germany and I’m looking forward to playing in a team that can achieve big things, both domestically and in Europe. I’m coming here to win games and titles, and I want to help the team with my experience.”

Ilestedt returns to the German club game four years on from leaving Bayern Munich.
