Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing West Ham United target Jonathan Burkardt as a replacement for the in-demand Omar Marmoush.
West Ham are struggling this season and they are currently 14th in the Premier League table with 19 points from 16 games, despite investing heavily in the summer window.
Goalscoring has been an issue for Julen Lopetegui’s side, with striker Niclas Fullkrug only just back after a layoff and other Hammers attackers disappointing.
The club could look to add another goal threat when the January transfer window swings open for business and they are being linked with players.
The Hammers are considering strengthening their forward line in the winter window and Mainz’s Burkardt is claimed to be on their list.
However, according to German magazine Sport Bild (via Fussball Transfers), Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in signing forward Burkardt.
Eintracht Frankfurt might lose their in-form forward Marmoush as several clubs are showing interest in him and they are considering West Ham target Burkardt as a potential replacement.
The Mainz forward is in incredible form this season and has netted ten times in 14 league games for the club.
Burkardt has a contract until June 2027 with Mainz and it remains to be seen whether West Ham will approach the German outfit to secure his signature in the winter window.
