Edon Zhegrova’s intermediary: “Napoli must solve problems within the club” | OneFootball

Edon Zhegrova has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Napoli but one of his intermediaries has made it clear that the Partenopei should first focus on solving problems within the club.

The intermediary – Serxhio Mezi spoke to Stile TV about his client and revealed that Napoli did make contact for the Lille winger last summer and Barcelona had also come forward.

He said, as relayed by CN24: “Zhegrova to Napoli? We have already had contact with Napoli this summer, they had established a gentleman’s agreement then Napoli parked the boy and in the end Kvaratskhelia did not go to PSG and Zhegrova returned to play.

He further stated that Zhegrova had even started looking for villas in Naples but the move fell through: “The boy was also looking for a villa in Naples, he wanted Naples but now I find it difficult to close it with Napoli, We also had a concrete offer from Barcelona so I see it as difficult that I can arrive in Naples now.”

Speaking further about Napoli, Mezi revealed that Napoli have internal problems and Antonio Conte isn’t happy with the signings the club has made.

He said: “Difficult but still open negotiations? Napoli must first resolve the problems within the club. We all know that Conte is not happy with the purchases but today I tell you that the coach has had two bombshell phone calls from two important Serie A clubs for next year.”

Speaking further, he said: “So, Napoli must first resolve with Antonio Conte and then think about the transfer market! There is no univocal vision between Conte and the club on the market issues: Napoli has only bought one player from him, Lukaku. Conte is very angry about the market also because he has arrived to fight for the Scudetto. Conte is a master, he has done his best. Zhegrova was requested by Conte, but the boy now no longer has to prove his worth.”

Napoli are still much in the hunt for a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and they will look to sign a replacement in the summer.
