Ederson sets new Premier League record with latest Man City assist | OneFootball

Man City goalkeeper Ederson now holds the record for the most assists by a goalkeeper in Premier League history.

The Brazil international lofted a beautiful ball over the top for teammate Omar Marmoush, who wonderfully lobbed Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka for his side’s opener on Saturday.

Ederson has always been comfortable with the ball at his feet, earning a reputation for being one of the very best ball-playing keepers in the world.

That’s backed up by the six assists he’s created since joining City in 2017, more than any other player in his position since the competition broke away from the English Football League in 1992.

Remarkably, half of those assists have come this season – having also set up goals against Chelsea and Brentford – which is as many as the likes of Cody Gakpo, Martin Odegaard, and Kaoru Mitoma, and one more than Phil Foden, Luis Diaz and Pedro Neto.
