A mural of Eberechi Eze has appeared overnight to mark the Crystal Palace star’s imminent move to Arsenal.

Renowned street artist and lifelong Arsenal supporter Northbanksy unveiled the artwork on social media, revealing the painting inside his self-styled Arsenal street art gallery known as ‘The Tunnel’.

The space already features tributes to several Gunners icons, and now Eze has been added to its walls.

The mural depicts the 27-year-old midfielder in an Arsenal shirt, captured mid-celebration with his trademark cross-arm pose.

Eze had been strongly linked with a transfer to Tottenham, but Arsenal made a stunning late swoop on Wednesday after Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury.

The Gunners now have an agreement in principle with Crystal Palace over a deal worth around £68 million, and personal terms are close to being finalised.

Despite the looming switch, Eze will still line up for Palace in Thursday’s Europa Conference League play-off clash with Fredrikstad.

He took part in an open training session on Wednesday, and manager Oliver Glasner confirmed he would start the match.

Arsenal have accelerated talks to secure the England international, who is expected to undergo a medical on Friday. Eze is understood to favour the move to Arsenal, which would see him return to the club he briefly represented at youth level before being released at 13.

Where Mikel Arteta plans to deploy his new attacking option remains to be seen. Eze is versatile, comfortable both in central attacking roles and cutting in from the left flank.
