Easter Monday’s shaping up to be a proper game-changer for quite a few teams in the league.
Both Leeds and Burnley are in with a shot of sealing a return to the Premier League, and they’re both in action.
League leaders Leeds are at home to Stoke City in the afternoon. A win there would leave them just about promoted – but straight after that, attention will turn to what’s happening at Burnley.
The Clarets, second only on goal difference, are taking on third-placed Sheffield United in the late kick-off. If the Blades drop points, Leeds are up. But if Burnley win, they’ll guarantee themselves a top-two finish as well, which would be massive for Scott Parker’s lot.
When it comes to the play-offs, four clubs – Burnley, Sheffield United, Leeds and Sunderland – are already locked in. That means only two places are left to be claimed.
Bristol City are the only team who could book their spot today. They’ll need to beat Luton and hope Middlesbrough lose to Sheffield Wednesday for that to happen.
At the bottom end of the table, nothing’s getting decided just yet. That relegation scrap is set to carry on at least until next weekend’s fixtures.
