As time goes by, it is less and less common to find stories of brothers who have played soccer. It is even more atypical to hear about some who have shared a team. Now, to think of twins who defended the same colors, there are very few cases; but Chivas can boast that it had two 'Cuates' who left an important legacy in its history.

Ignacio and Carlos Calderón González were born on December 13, 1943, so today we celebrate their 81 years of existence. 'Nacho' played under the three goalposts, while Carlos played in the Rojiblanco offensive apparatus, from where they contributed to the 'Campeonísimo' increasing its myth in the decade of the 60s.

From the goal of the Rebaño Sagrado, Ignacio gave us unforgettable performances that eventually led him to be the starting goalkeeper for the Mexican National Team, with which he played in the 1966 and 1970 World Cups in England and Mexico.

For his part, Carlos was a constant in the Chivas attack, to the point of being the goal-scoring champion of the 1968-1969 Mexico Cup, without being a center forward. This also led him to become a national team player.

The Calderón brothers won 8 trophies wearing the Rojiblanca jersey, because with them on the field, Guadalajara was always a favorite against any rival.
