Inter Milan and Venezia have reportedly reached an agreement over the transfer of Franco Carboni who endured a brief and forgettable spell at River Plate.

The Argentina U20 starlet has been on the Nerazzurri’s books since making the move from Catania in January 2020.

Nevertheless, the left-back was never able to carve himself a spot in the senior squad, so he’s been constantly on loan over the past few years.

The 21-year-old had loan stints at Cagliari, Monza and Ternana.

This summer, Carboni made his return to Argentina through the gates of River Plate. He signed for the Buenos Aires giants on loan until December 2025.

However, the club soon parted ways with Martin Demichellis, appointing Marcello Gallardo as his successor.

Sadly for the young fullback, the new coach didn’t fancy working with him, so he left him out of the squad.

Therefore, the parties agreed to cut the loan stint short, ending the player’s spell after just 40 days.

Sources in the Argentinian press have reported this story earlier today, while confirmation has now arrived from Italy.

According to Sky Sport Italia via FcInter1908, Carboni has indeed terminated his loan spell at River Plate.

Nevertheless, Inter have immediately found the player a new destination.

The Italian champions have already reached an agreement with Venezia over a loan move.

The Venetians have made their return to the Italian top flight after winning the Serie B playoffs last season.

The Lagunari are still looking to enhance Francesco Di Eusebio’s squad, especially after losing their opening fixture against Lazio.

The two clubs have already concluded a couple of operations this summer. Gaetano Oristanio and Filip Stankovic both made the move from Milano to Venezia.

Carboni’s contract with Inter remains valid until the summer of 2026.
