Diouf to Inter: Young Midfield Talent Signs Long Term Deal
Inter Milan's completed the signing of French midfielder Andy Diouf from Lens on 5 year contract, with the reported transfer fee around 20 million euro plus bonuses.
Diouf 22, began his youth career at Paris Saint Germain & Stade Rennais before moving to Basel where his breakthrough season earned him the Best Young Player award in Conference league.
Lens acquired him for 14 million euro two year ago and he made 68 appearances across all competitions scoring twice and providing 2 assist.
Inter turned to Diouf after missing out on Roma’s Manu Kone & Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman. Under coach Christian Chivu, Diouf becomes the club’s 4th summer signing following Ange Yoan Bonny, Peter Sutchitch and Luis Henrique.
Standing 1.87m, Diouf's known for his left foot accuracy, speed with the ball and versatility in midfield roles.
His performances at Basel including decisive goal in the Conference league semifinals against Fiorentina highlighted his ability to influence high stakes matches.
