The renewal
“I’m very happy and very grateful to the club for this renewal, and now it’s down to me to show them that they weren’t wrong about me. I’ll keep giving everything, just as I’ve always done. I’ve always said it: I doubt I could be anywhere better than here. The club is incredible, as are the people and the city. I’ve felt at home since the day I arrived. I had zero doubts about staying here because I feel truly happy. The club deserve my gratitude for the effort they have made to keep me here. I wanted to stay, and the club have always had faith in me since I came up. This is my fifth season, and I hope to be here for many more. Valencia means something very special to me because of everything this club and the people represent. I carry it in my heart.”
His career
“I arrived as a kid; I’m still young, but I’ve matured. The people here have helped me a lot in that process. I’ve had great coaches who have made me improve and grow -and they still do. I hope to go as far as possible with Valencia CF in LaLiga, and winning trophies with this club would be a dream come true.”
His best moments
“There are many: from my debut to my first goal. But I’ll go with the match against Real Betis at Mestalla. I’ll always keep that goal with me because of what that game meant, and how emotional that day was. It’s a memory I’ll carry forever.”
The team“We’re doing well and we have clear ideas. The new signings have settled in nicely, they understand what the team are about, and we've welcomed them with open arms. The match against Real Sociedad ended in a draw, but it felt like that was not enough for us, and that speaks very highly of the group, which is ambitious. If we keep working the way we have been, things will go very well.”
The fans
“They’ve always shown me affection. The more than 40,000 Valencia CF fans who come to every match help us, support us, and I try to give that back on the pitch with effort and sacrifice, because I believe they deserve nothing less. Hopefully they’ll continue supporting the team this way, because they are fundamental.”
