According to Nice-Matin, former OGC Nice head coach Didier Digard has gained his professional coaching badges amidst a potential return to the Allianz Riviera dugout.

With Francesco Farioli set to depart Nice at the end of the season and join Ajax, Digard has become the favourite candidate to replace the Italian coach next season, according to L’Équipe. Farioli is not the only person expected to depart Nice at the end of the season. Les Aiglons’ sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is also set to resign from his post and looks set to join Roma.

The French coach enjoyed a successful start to life in charge of Nice in 2023 remaining unbeaten for his first 14 games in charge of the Côte d’Azur club. However, he was replaced at the end of the 2023/24 season by their current boss Francesco Farioli. Digard did not hold the required coaching qualifications during his time in charge of Nice meaning they had to pay a fine. This preparation suggests Nice would be looking to avoid a repeat if he is to be their successor to Farioli.
