Details behind Kamaldeen Sulemana’s move to Atalanta | OneFootball

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Southampton will receive a base fee of €17m from Atalanta for Kamaldeen Sulemana (23), with the Championship club receiving a further €4m in bonuses while including a 15 percent sell-on clause.

Southampton rejected an initial €14m offer from Atalanta for Sulemana who scored one goal and provided one assist in 26 Premier League games as the Saints finished bottom of the table with just two wins in 38 games, finishing the campaign on 12 points.

Sulemana will link back up with Ivan Jurić, who coached the Ghanian for 15 games during his tenure at Southampton in the latter stages of last season. The 23-year-old certainly improved after struggling to find his place in Russel Martin’s squad.

Even with the reported €21m fee including bonuses, Southampton face a loss on the player they paid €25m for from Rennes in January 2023.
