Orlando City SC begins the 2025 season with a trio of Designated Players that will keep opponents unbalanced.

Signing winger Marco Pasalic brings to three the number of Designated Players on the 2025 Orlando City SC roster. The other two are forward Luis Muriel and midfielder Martin Ojeda.

Attention is focused on what Pasalic will bring to the Orlando pitch. However, this trio of Designated Players for matches will fuel the drive through this season and beyond. It's not just Pasalic.

Muriel has confounded Orlando City supporters by not serving the team as a consistent starter. They fail to see how Muriel supplies brilliant performance bursts in concentrated calls of the Lions' bench.

Last season in a 2-0 match victory against Charlotte FC he came off the bench for just 12 minutes. He got a dispossession, completed most of his six passes, and won one of the team’s 12 aerial duels.

Midfielder Martin Ojeda has played 68 games, starting 40, since joining the squad in 2023. He’s scored 10 goals with 22 assists in that time. It’s even more impressive that he’s maintained a passing completion percentage of just under 82% and executed 100 key passes.

Ojeda’s performance includes 80 crosses, 767 successful short passes, and 74 accurate long balls.

Add to that what new winger Marco Pasalic brings to the pitch.

The Pasalic transfer brings a player with a quick fit for the Lions roster. He brings impact through a constant threat to score. The club recognized on signing that this player comes with a competitive drive that works perfectly with Orlando’s goals.

He joins with his other DPs in open spaces during the match. Then they will control those spaces while creating chances for the Lions to score.

Orlando City SC has assembled the roster that will drive them closer than ever to winning it all in the MLS.
