Three departing members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday secured for themselves official legend status at the club.

This comes by way of the latest update to have been unveiled on Real Madrid’s website.

Los Blancos have a specific section of their site dedicated solely to ‘legends’ in Spain’s capital, filled with a who’s who of some of the most recognisable faces in the history of football.

Safe to say, then, that the latest three inductees into the legends club will no doubt be left feeling altogether honoured.

The identities of two of the three will come as little surprise, in the form of a pair of long-time Real icons.

The duo in question? Retiring midfielder Toni Kroos, and Saudi Arabia-bound captain and defender Nacho.

The third player to have seen their efforts recognised comes in the form of an altogether more short-term contributor – in frontman Joselu.

Joselu, for his part, secured a return to Madrid last summer, as part of a season-long loan from Espanyol.

And though he was restricted largely to backup duties, the 34-year-old nevertheless went on to make a telling impact.

A pivotal figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s side lifting yet another Champions League trophy, Joselu, in turn, has also done enough to be considered a legendary player in the books of Los Merengues.
