In a major development, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona have made the decision to move the Joan Gamper Trophy match next month from Spotify Camp Nou to Estadi Johan Cruyff.
A few weeks ago, Barça announced that the Gamper Trophy match, scheduled for August 10 against Como, will mark the club’s official return to Spotify Camp Nou, two years after the move to Montjuic due to renovation works.
However, in recent days, doubts about the venue being given the requisite permits to go ahead with the game had begun growing.
Now, as per the report, the Gamper Trophy match will take place at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
The official return to the Camp Nou is now scheduled for the first home match of LaLiga, against Valencia, set for Saturday 13 or Sunday 14 September, which will be matchday four of the league campaign.

The City Council had approved the first Activities and Works licence for Spotify Camp Nou, leading to optimism about a possible reopening.
The council was expected to inform Barcelona this week regarding the definitive opening and the issuance of the second licence – the First Occupancy permit – which is essential for allowing a minimum of 30,000 spectators into the stadium.
However, as sources from the council confirmed to MD, the licence will not be granted.
As a result, the Gamper Trophy game vs Como will be moved to Estadi Johan Cruyff, which has a capacity of 6,000 spectators.
The option to use the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic was never considered, as a Blackpink concert is scheduled there on 9 August.
