After returning on loan from Elversberg, Fisnik Asllani sees his future at Hoffenheim. According to news from Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old will extend his contract, which expires next summer, until 2029 on Sunday.
This decision means that Werder Bremen and new coach Horst Steffen, who was Asllani's coach last season at Elversberg, will miss out on the talented striker.
A conversation with TSG coach Christian Ilzer in the last few days has confirmed Asllani's decision. He was told that he would be an important part of the plans for the new season.
Asllani joined Hoffenheim's U23s on a free transfer from the youth team of 1. FC Union Berlin in 2020 at the age of 17 and moved into the professional squad a year and a half later. He played ten games for the first team without scoring a goal before being loaned out to FK Austria Vienna in 2023 and SV Elversberg last year.
At Elversberg, Asllani experienced a breakthrouh year, scoring 19 goals and assisting a further ten in 37 games for the club. That's why a reunion with Steffen at Bremen looked like a realistic scenario for a long time.
The Berlin-born striker went through some German youth teams before ultimately deciding to represent Kosovo on the international stage. Since then, Asllani has managed five appearances for the Balkan country.
