New Olympique Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi is looking to Serie A for reinforcements, reportedly targeting Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli and Inter-owned forward Valentin Carboni.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion boss is transforming the squad and already secured Ismael Kone from Watford, who had been linked with Roma.

According to Footmercato, he is also inspired by Serie A and has two names on his wish-list.

The first is Juventus midfielder Locatelli, who has not disguised his frustration with the way he has been used in Turin, a decision that ultimately saw him left out of the Italy squad for EURO 2024.

However, the arrival of new coach Thiago Motta could change that and he is eager to at least try to develop as a player with the Bianconeri.

Carboni targeted by Marseille

A more likely candidate is Inter-owned forward Carboni, who spent this season on loan at Monza.

Despite only being 19 years old, he already has 36 Serie A appearances under his belt, with two goals and four assists.

Most notably, Carboni also has three senior caps for Argentina and is part of the Copa America squad.

Atalanta had also been linked, but Marseille would likely buy him outright rather than a loan with option to buy.

Carboni plays as a trequartista, a support striker or on the right wing.
