Davide Ancelotti will follow in the footsteps of his father, Carlo, and fill a managerial vacancy in Brazil. The 35-year-old Italian head coach will sign for Botafogo, according to a report from L’Equipe. Davide Ancelotti previously worked as his father’s assistant coach in Real Madrid and in the Brazil national team. The outlet understands that Davide Ancelotti will continue to assist his father in the Brazil dugout for the 2026 World Cup.
Botafogo, owned by Eagle Football’s John Textor, were in the market for a head coach after Textor fired Renato Paiva, despite the latter leading Botafogo to the Club World Cup’s last-16. The Rio de Janeiro-based outfit was eliminated by Brazilian rivals Palmeiras. Davide Ancelotti was previously linked with the managerial vacancy at Glasgow Rangers FC. The Gers eventually signed Russell Martin.
