According to Fabrizio Romano, Nunez’s time at Liverpool could be coming to an end soon. The reliable journalist claims that Nunez has a strong chance to leave the club in the summer, and his exit has been discussed in recent months.

“Darwin Nunez’s full focus until July remains on Liverpool after Al Nassr deal collapsed in January,” wrote the transfer expert on X.

“But then he has strong chances to leave the club. Nunez’s exit in the summer is a concrete possibility, already discussed in the recent months.”

Liverpool paid £64 million to sign Nunez from Benfica in 2022. He scored 15 goals in his first season at the club, and last season, he managed 18 goals.

This season, he has managed only six goals to his name, and things have not worked out for him as many had expected. Therefore, not many fans will protest if Nunez is allowed to leave the club.

He was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League club during the January transfer window, but Liverpool were not ready to sell him. The situation is likely to change in the summer.

Liverpool are expected to demand a massive transfer fee for Nunez if he leaves. The Reds have been linked with a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, but the club should be wary of his injury records.
