Dani Olmo and Pau Victor resigned to Barcelona waiting game as Lamine Yamal sends message | OneFootball

Barcelona appear to be falling into an institutional crisis in live action, after La Liga emitted a statement declaring that the club had not carried out any deals that would allow them to register new players. It has left Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in a difficult situation.

Both have been removed from La Liga’s website and replaced by Andreas Christensen, who they were registered in place of due to an emergency injury rule. Barcelona maintain that they will be registered, but as things stand, neither will be able to play for the rest of the season for Barcelona.

As the new year came in, Olmo posted a picture with his partner saying simply 2025 with blue and red lovehearts next to it, referencing the Barcelona colours. Under that post, teammate Inigo Martinez posted a clock emoji, referencing Olmo’s celebration mimicking Dame Lillard’s in the NBA. Meanwhile Lamine Yamal commented ‘dani olmo is a culerrrrr’.

Sport say that both players are resigned to the waiting and hoping that Barcelona come through on their word that they will be registered. However both of their agents will now have to look at alternative opportunities for the second half of the season, even if both are keen to stay at the club. In particular in Olmo’s case, he has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for free with all of his €48m contract paid out if he is not registered.
