According to a report by L’Équipe, CSKA Moscow are interested in bringing Jean-Philippe Gbamin (29) back to the club. The midfielder had played for CSKA briefly on loan from Everton FC in 2022 and according to the French outlet he has fond memories of his time in Russia.
Gbamin only joined his current club FC Nantes over the summer when he left Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque to sign a one-year contract. However, the Ivory Coast international could be on the move again after he has struggled to settle at his new club and hold down a regular role in the side.
Gbamin has made seven appearances so far for La Maison Jaune and only two of those have been starts for Antoine Kombouaré’s struggling side. Nantes currently sit in the relegation play-off spot after picking up 10 points in 12 games. An early promising start to the season which saw the club briefly sit third in the table has faded with the squad winless since the end of August.
