Wales boss Craig Bellamy has called up Cardiff City youngster Ronan Kpakio for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Belgium.
The right-back, who only turned 18 on Sunday and has already captained Wales at youth level several times, is part of Bellamy’s 27-man squad for the two qualifiers.
Kpakio signed his first pro deal last July and made his senior debut for Cardiff in the Carabao Cup a month later.
Both Kpakio and Charlie Crew have been included after taking part in last week’s Wales training camps in Cardiff and Spain.
Leeds midfielder Crew, also 18, spent the second half of the season on loan at Doncaster and played a key role in helping them win the League Two title. He earned his first senior cap in a friendly against Gibraltar last summer.
There’s good news as Ethan Ampadu and Harry Wilson are back in the squad after missing March’s qualifiers through injury.
Captain Aaron Ramsey, though, is still sidelined following hamstring surgery in March.
Kai Andrews and Tom Lawrence, who were involved in the last two games against Kazakhstan and North Macedonia, are not in the squad this time, with Allen having recently retired.
