Could OGC Nice’s Khéphren Thuram defy departure expectations? | OneFootball

Since last summer, Khéphren Thuram’s (23) departure from OGC Nice has been considered a foregone certainty. The Frenchman made the shock decision to remain at Nice at the start of the season, despite interest in obtaining his services from across Europe. Nice-Matin have not ruled out the possibility that he may do so again.

Like close friend and club and international teammate Jean-Clair Todibo (24), Thuram will be allowed to leave Nice this summer. With just one year remaining on his current deal, now is the right time for Thuram and Nice to part ways, in order to allow the latter to garner a fee.

However, there is a problem. Thuram’s season has not been entirely convincing. For Nice, that will certainly mean a lower fee, whilst for Thuram, the suitors may be less prestigious. Within this context, Thuram, whose career is now managed by Meïssa Ndiaye (who is also the agent of Thuram’s brother, Marcus), may make the decision to stay once again and then leave the club on a free transfer at the end of next season, just as Marcus Thuram did when he joined Inter Milan.
